I’m fascinated by the quick-fix aspect of a cellulite wrap. My head tells me it doesn’t work, but my heart is wanting to believe otherwise.
Every day spa in the world probably offers a cellulite wrap – most of them are likely a seaweed wrap. There’s got to be some validity to it, right?
The local day spa which charges $100 for a cellulite wrap, has a wrap that contains “essential oils, ivy extract and seaweed extract specially formulated to reduce cellulite and eliminate stored toxins by stimulating the lymphatic system.”
My questions are which essential oils? And what does seaweed and ivy extract do for cellulite? I must find out. If I can get the right ingredients, why couldn’t I mix it myself?
Here’s what I found on ivy, the link is below:
When used topically in cosmetic and skincare products, ivy has a decongesting, as well as toning effect and also acts as a penetrating medium. It has anti-fungal, anthelmintic and molluscicidal properties.
Not only does ivy help to boost the blood circulation, but it also tones and tightens the skin, while helping to remove waste products and fatty build-ups.

Ok, so now to do some research on seaweed. In a nutshell, it looks like seaweed increase the skin’s hydration.

I’m adding the above site to my blogroll. Looks like a lot of good cellulite info is on that site.
There’s also some info on a homemade cellulite body wrap too. I’m just wondering where I’m going to get all of these ingredients. Also, by the time I’m done, would it have been cheaper to just go out and buy a bottle of cellulite cream.

I’m curious as to what the big name cellulite creams have as ingredients. Creams like Murad, Cellulean and Revitol. I’ll have to save that research for another day. For now I’m going to find out where and how much it’ll cost me to get these essential oil extracts and enough Ace bandages to wrap myself.
Thanks for reading!
