At 37, after two pregnancies, one that gave me a beautiful daughter and the other which ended in a 2nd trimester miscarriage, I looked at myself and realized that I needed to make a change. There I was, on the beach with my darling 4-year-old daughter, feeling like a big cottage-cheesy mass. When I looked down at my thighs, I realized how far I let this cellulite problem go and wondered, “How and when did this happen?”
Now I realize that my struggle with cellulite stared at birth. As I look at my daughter’s cute little tush, I see the first little dimple and it transports me to when I was about 14 trying on a bathing suit in a fitting room. I caught a glimpse of my rear. As I inspected more closely, I could see that even at my young age, my butt was riddled with dimples. “Oh, it will go away, that’s just baby fat.” But at 4 and 14 , my daughter and I were no longer babies, and I can see that my problem is a combination of genetics and lifestyle.
I became determined to do something about it. As I looked at some of the other mothers on the beach who looked like they couldn’t possibly have given birth, I was determined to not go through another summer looking the way that I did.
I realized that I needed something that wouldn’t take a lot of time and that would still give me results. I work full time, leaving the house at 7:30am and returning at 6:30pm. When I get home, I’m mom, wife and have little time to myself.
So, I started my cellulite reduction experiment using myself as the guinea pig.
